Eintracht Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmöller has acknowledged defeat in their pursuit of Brighton and Hove Albion’s Pascal Groß, hinting that a move to Borussia Dortmund is likely imminent.
According to reports from MOPO, Toppmöller indicated that Eintracht Frankfurt has now removed Groß’s name from their list of transfer targets. The Bundesliga club had been strongly linked with the Brighton midfielder throughout the summer, especially as he enters the final year of his contract with the Seagulls.
Recent reports have suggested that Groß is close to joining Borussia Dortmund instead, with indications that Dortmund is determined to finalize the transfer. Toppmöller alluded to this development, stating, “We would have liked to have him here due to his experience and character, but the matter is now settled. There’s no need to dwell on it further.”
The focus now shifts to when the move to Dortmund will be finalized. Reports from Ruhr Nachrichten earlier in the week indicated that Groß has chosen Dortmund and that negotiations for a deal worth €7-10 million are underway.
