DERBY COUNTY SET TO SHOCK FANS WITH STUNNING MOVE FOR YET ANOTHER STAR MIDFIELDER FOLLOWING RECORD-BREAKING £900K DEAL

Derby County are poised to strengthen their midfield options with the permanent signing of Ebou Adams from Cardiff City, according to recent reports.

The Rams have been eager to bring Adams back to Pride Park following his successful loan spell last season. Since joining Derbyshire from Cardiff in January on a temporary deal, Adams played a crucial role with 17 appearances in League One, aiding Paul Warne’s team in securing promotion to the Championship. His standout performance on the final day, where Derby secured their promotion with a 2-0 victory over Carlisle United, earned him the Man of the Match accolade and chants from supporters urging him to stay.

Adams responded positively to the fans, hinting at his desire to return this summer, stating, “It’s never goodbye from me.” Now, it seems the wishes of the fans are set to be granted. According to John Percy of The Telegraph, Derby County is nearing a deal to sign Adams permanently from Cardiff City for a fee just under £1 million. Darren Witcoop further specified that the exact amount is £900,000, with Adams expected to complete his return to Derby next week.

Despite nearing the acquisition of Adams and already securing Kenzo Goudmijn from AZ Alkmaar and free agent Ben Osborn, Derby County remains active in the market. Reports indicate they are still looking to add another midfielder to their squad.

Manager Paul Warne appears focused on bolstering the team’s midfield depth to ensure they can compete in the Championship following promotion. With Adams potentially rejoining, Derby will have added three midfielders this summer, yet Warne is not done reinforcing his squad.

Earlier interest in Ipswich Town’s Idris El Mizouni was noted, though the Tunisian has since moved to Oxford United, leaving Derby’s current midfield targets unclear at this time.
