In a pre-season friendly, Derby kicked off their preparations with a decisive 3-0 win over Matlock Town. Warne had the opportunity to evaluate several new additions, with Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates both scoring, and Dutch midfielder Kenzo Goudmijn playing the final 30 minutes.
