Sheffield Wednesday Set for Preseason Training Camp in Germany and Austria

Sheffield Wednesday will embark on a week-long preseason camp in Germany and Austria later this week, as they prepare for the 2024/25 Championship season. Under the guidance of head coach Danny Röhl, the Owls have already been engaged in rigorous training sessions at Middlewood Road and St. George’s Park.

The team will depart on Friday for their second camp of the preseason, where they are scheduled to face RB Salzburg and Werder Bremen, two former Bundesliga champions, in friendly matches. The camp will span just over a week, with the first game taking place at Red Bull Arena behind closed doors on Saturday afternoon (3pm UK time) and the second on July 26th (2pm UK time) at Parkstadion Zell Am Ziller, which will be open to the public. A number of Wednesday fans are expected to travel for the matches.

While there are no plans for a live stream of the Salzburg game, The Star will provide coverage of the fixture. There is hope that the Bremen match may be available for fans to watch via a stream, though this has not yet been confirmed.

Upon their return to England, the Owls will have another week of preparation before their final preseason match—Liam Palmer’s testimonial against Leganes on August 3rd. The season opener against Plymouth Argyle is set for August 11th.
