Explosive Exit! Sensational £40k-p/w Superstar Hailed “Incredible” by Mourinho Set to Shockingly Depart Leeds United in Blockbuster Summer Move

July 19, 2024

Leeds United are on the brink of losing a key player this summer, as defender Rasmus Kristensen nears a move away from Elland Road for the upcoming season.

With Leeds preparing for another Championship campaign under Daniel Farke, the summer has been marked by significant squad changes. The team is adjusting to life in the Championship once more, with Archie Gray and Glen Kamara having already departed, and various returning loanees adding to the uncertainty. As they gear up to face Portsmouth in their season opener, Leeds are also bracing for the potential departure of star Crysencio Summerville, who has attracted widespread interest.

Kristensen, who spent last season on loan at Roma in Serie A, is now close to finalizing his move away from Leeds. The 27-year-old Danish defender made 29 appearances for Roma and earned praise from manager José Mourinho for his “incredible” performance against Cremonese, where he adapted well to an unfamiliar position.

Despite his solid performances in Italy, Roma decided not to pursue a permanent deal, leaving Kristensen to return to Leeds for pre-season. With three years remaining on his £40,000-per-week contract, Kristensen was not expected to remain part of Farke’s plans, especially as Leeds have been actively seeking a new right-back.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Kristensen is set to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan, with an option for the German club to buy him for £15 million at the end of the season. Kristensen will undergo a medical on Friday to complete the move. If Frankfurt exercise the purchase option, Kristensen would become their second most expensive signing ever, which could mean a possible return to Leeds next summer depending on his performance.
