Derby County set to shock fans by outmaneuvering Luton Town and Wayne Rooney in a sensational coup for Crystal Palace transfer

Derby County appear to be leading the race to sign Crystal Palace midfielder David Ozoh, outpacing interest from Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle.

According to the South London Press, Derby are nearing a deal for the 19-year-old, who made 13 appearances for Palace last season. While Luton showed interest in a permanent transfer and Plymouth, under Wayne Rooney, wanted him on loan, Derby seem poised to secure Ozoh’s signature. This acquisition would bolster their midfield, which already includes new signings Kenzo Goudmijn, Ebou Adams, and Ben Osborn.

Ozoh’s impressive stint at Palace included a standout performance in a 2-2 draw against Manchester City last December under former manager Roy Hodgson. Reflecting on his debut against Newcastle in October, Ozoh shared, “When I was told to warm up, I was really nervous. When the manager asked me to take my jumper off, it hit me that this was real. I remember Joel Ward handing me my shin pads, and my hands were literally shaking. But once I got on the pitch, I felt good. The crowd’s welcome was amazing, and it really boosted my confidence. I’m grateful to the fans for making me feel so welcome that day.”
