Paul Warne is elated to have Ebou Adams back at Derby County, though he acknowledged that completing the transfer was challenging.

Derby County secured Adams’ return this week for a fee estimated at around £500,000. His comeback is highly anticipated, given his key role in last season’s promotion to the Championship. Adams made a significant impact, notably scoring the decisive goal in the 1-0 win over Blackpool and adding much-needed aggression and physicality to the midfield.

The pursuit of Adams was prolonged, as Derby had to wait for Cardiff to resolve their managerial situation, with delays in Erol Bulut’s contract causing frustration. However, Warne is pleased to finally have the former Forest Green Rovers midfielder back, a move that has been well-received by fans.

“It’s great to have him back,” Warne said. “It was a difficult process, but we succeeded in the end. Ebou is a fantastic player and a great person. It’s wonderful to have him here. He brings a lot to our midfield. Ebou, his wife, and their little one are part of our family.”
