Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Röhl has openly expressed his desire to bring Iké Ugbo back to the club this summer. Ugbo made a significant impact during his loan spell at Hillsborough in the latter half of last season, scoring crucial goals that helped secure the Owls’ place in the Championship.

The club has been in contact with Troyes regarding a potential permanent transfer for Ugbo, but no agreement has been reached yet. Ugbo’s absence from Troyes’ preseason squad suggests he may be leaving the French club, though it remains uncertain if his destination will be Wednesday.

Röhl, when asked about Ugbo, smiled and said, “He’s not here at the moment, but we’ll look at what we can do. He’s a crucial player, but at the moment, we have to try and look for different options. We know the players who made a big impact last season, and we’ll continue with that in mind. It’s a process, and I can’t promise anything now.”

Wednesday has made several new signings this summer, all of whom are currently in Germany for preseason camp. While it’s possible that Ugbo could join them if a deal is reached, it remains uncertain for now.
