Sheffield United are in a competitive race with five other Championship teams to secure a deal for Peterborough United defender Harrison Burrows.

The 22-year-old has established himself as a key player at London Road after progressing through the Posh academy and has made over 180 appearances for the club. Following a significant role in their push for a League One play-off spot last season, Burrows has attracted interest from several Championship clubs, with Sheffield United reportedly leading the chase. Negotiations are ongoing, and there were rumors that Burrows had agreed to personal terms and would undergo a medical at Bramall Lane over the weekend. However, Burrows remains a Peterborough player, with chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealing that he has accepted offers from a couple of clubs amid reports that Leeds United is now in the mix. Speaking on talkSPORT, MacAnthony stated, “We’ve had bids from five Championship clubs for Burrows, and we’ve accepted a couple. It’s now up to the player with those clubs. He’s been with us since he was nine, so we’re sad to lose him, but I’m excited to see another Peterborough player eventually move to the Premier League.” Co-host Alex Crook commented on the Blades’ successful summer transfer business, to which MacAnthony replied, “Yeah, so have Leeds and a few others. There’s always interest in our young talent; it’s what we do, and we haven’t finished our own shopping yet.” However, the Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that Leeds is not among the clubs with accepted bids for the 22-year-old.

Derby County is reportedly on the verge of signing Swedish goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom, who has been linked with Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. According to Swedish daily Expressen, the Rams have agreed on a fee with Djurgarden, and Zetterstrom is set to travel to England for a medical to finalize a deal worth around £1.4 million, which could increase with add-ons. Derby manager Paul Warne has already made several new signings ahead of the team’s return to the Championship. The Rams have secured free transfer agreements with Sheffield United midfielder Ben Osborn, Charlton Athletic winger Corey Blackett-Taylor, and forwards Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates. Additionally, Dutch midfielder Kenzo Goudmijn joined in a £500,000 move from AZ Alkmaar, and Ebou Adams was signed from Cardiff City for a reported £750,000. Zetterstrom now appears to be Warne’s latest addition as he seeks to replace former loan signing Joe Wildsmith, who returned to Sheffield Wednesday and subsequently joined Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion.
