‘I knew something was up with those players, Can’t wait for them to come back stronger’: Warne Unleashes Derby County’s Catastrophic Injury Update on Duo Who Were Mysteriously Absent in Barnsley Clash

On Saturday at 3pm, Paul Warne’s Derby County will wrap up their final pre-season friendly as they welcome Spanish side Valladolid to Pride Park. The Rams have seen a flurry of promising summer signings, including the return of Ebou Adams from Cardiff City and securing Jerry Yates on loan. Despite these positive moves, Derby County has faced defeats in their last three pre-season fixtures, most recently falling 4-3 to Barnsley.

Looking ahead to the Championship opener against Blackburn Rovers managed by John Eustace, Warne aims to have all his players fit and ready. Injuries have been a concern, particularly for Conor Washington and Tyrese Fornah. Washington has been plagued by various injuries since last year, including a significant ankle issue requiring surgery. Fornah, on the other hand, has been recovering from a knee injury sustained in April but has been back in training alongside Washington.

Warne stressed the importance of getting Fornah back on the pitch promptly. Despite facing challenges to break into the starting lineup due to recent arrivals, Fornah’s quality and potential make him a valuable asset for Derby County. As the team gears up for a demanding Championship season, Fornah may need to accept a rotational role initially but must seize his opportunities to shine when they arise. His return will intensify competition in the midfield, enhancing the team’s overall depth.

Derby County’s clash with Valladolid marks a final test before the Championship campaign kicks off next week.
