Explosive Announcement: Town boss drops massive bombshell, hints at scorching exit of red-hot duo Taylor and McAtee during transfer window

Luton manager Rob Edwards has hinted at potential departures from Kenilworth Road for strikers John McAtee and Joe Taylor in the near future.

McAtee, who excelled at League One side Barnsley last season with 15 goals in 45 games, is on the brink of a move to Bolton Wanderers, with interest also coming from Wrexham. Despite not featuring for Luton’s first team since his arrival in 2022, McAtee has caught the eye of several clubs seeking his scoring prowess.

On the other hand, Taylor’s impressive performances for Lincoln City and Colchester United in the previous campaign have attracted the attention of Huddersfield, although Lincoln is keen on bringing him back as well.

With an abundance of attacking options like Carlton Morris, Elijah Adebayo, Cauley Woodrow, and Jacob Brown, Luton is well-equipped up front as they aim for another promotion. Edwards acknowledged the competition for places, indicating that McAtee and Taylor may be allowed to seek opportunities elsewhere for regular game time.

Speaking about the potential exits, Edwards emphasized the importance of finding the right path for both players given their abilities and age difference — McAtee at 25 and Taylor at 21. As interest continues to grow for the duo, Luton will assess the best decisions for all parties involved in the coming days.
