REPORT: CRUSHING BLOW! PAUL WARNE LEFT DEVASTATED AS DERBY COUNTY TARGET SET TO SNUB SUMMER MOVE

August 21, 2024

Derby County seems poised to make further moves in the remaining days of the summer transfer window. While they have made some notable signings such as Kenzo Goudmijn and Jacob Widell Zetterstrom, there is a feeling that more Championship-quality players are needed, particularly in attack.

Despite a recent quiet period in the rumor mill, reports suggest that Derby County and Oxford United are interested in signing Marvin Johnson from Sheffield Wednesday. However, it appears unlikely that Johnson will leave Sheffield Wednesday amid their efforts to balance the squad and finances.

Derby County’s defense is relatively well-stocked, with the exception of right-back following an injury. The focus now seems to be on bolstering the attacking department with a player of Nathaniel Mendez-Laing’s caliber to add depth and quality in case of injuries to key players. As the transfer window deadline approaches, Derby County may prioritize securing an attacking addition rather than pursuing a move for Johnson.
