AS Roma has secured the signing of Mats Hummels, previously targeted by West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion, as reported on Wednesday.
Despite interest from a number of clubs, Hummels, who left Borussia Dortmund as a free agent, opted for Roma. Brighton and West Ham were part of the chase for the experienced defender, but Hummels declined offers not only from the Premier League sides but also from various European clubs and even opportunities in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the MLS.
