Derby County secures back-to-back victories in the Championship with another triumph against Cardiff City. The Rams have made a promising return to the second tier, claiming three wins in their first five games of the season, all at their fortress, Pride Park. The crowd played a crucial role in their latest win over the Bluebirds.

A swift start saw Jerry Yates and Callum Elder link up on the left, resulting in a perfect delivery into the box by Elder. Kenzo Goudmijn capitalized on Kayden Jackson’s decoy to score his second goal in two games convincingly.

Despite a late Cardiff surge, Derby managed to hold on to claim maximum points. However, a moment of disbelief followed when Ebou Adams missed an open goal, leaving fans and players stunned.

In a late-game opportunity, Adams exhibited his trademark energy to challenge Cardiff goalkeeper Jak Alnwick for a loose ball. Despite winning the aerial duel, Adams squandered the chance, failing to extend the lead due to his tired legs.

Regardless of the missed opportunity, Derby secured victory, sparking various reactions, including Adams publicly apologizing on social media. The team rallied behind him, acknowledging his efforts and the overall team performance.

The midfield cohesion was on display, with Adams showcasing a strong performance and Goudmijn’s consistent goal-scoring form boosting team morale. Although an injury to David Ozoh raises concerns for the upcoming match against Sheffield United, Derby’s midfield seems to be finding its rhythm.

  • Ebou is an absolute tank in the midfield…there was only one man who would have the gonads to chase down the ball and fairly go in a 50/50 header with Alnwick and literally make him do a 720..the contact wiped the keeper out but Ebou just kept running, the defender chasing back clearly put Ebou off and he rushed it instead of calmly making it 2-0…gutted but Ebou can get away with it for his non stop efforts week in week out…cmon you Rams
