In light of Cristian Romero’s recent injury and the resulting setbacks for Ange Postecoglou, John Wenham has issued a stern warning to Tottenham, emphasizing the urgent need for swift action in the January transfer market.
Romero’s anticipated four to five-week absence due to a hamstring injury sustained in the 2-1 victory over Everton has compounded the challenges faced by Postecoglou, leaving the manager without both of his primary central defenders, as Micky van de Ven continues to recuperate from his own hamstring injury.
The mounting injuries to key players such as James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Son Heung-min, Pape Matar Sarr, and Yves Bissouma’s commitments in January have left Tottenham’s squad severely depleted.

We cannot afford to dawdle over finances or attempt to force through reluctant deals. We simply do not have the luxury of time for past indecisions. We must act swiftly, and Daniel Levy must ensure that deals are swiftly concluded.”
“Wenham further stressed, “Postecoglou has demonstrated his capabilities, and the club’s substantial external partnerships yield substantial revenues. It is imperative that the club expedites any acquisitions that Postecoglou deems necessary.”
