Wolves Set to Splash Whopping €18m to Secure Blockbuster Deal for FLOP Liverpool Star Amid Intense AC Milan and Celtic Competition

Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to have positioned themselves as frontrunners in the race to secure the services of Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo, who is also drawing interest from top clubs like AC Milan, Celtic, and Fulham.

Recent reports suggest that Wolves are on the verge of finalizing a deal for Endo, closely monitoring his status ahead of the upcoming January transfer window. The club has expressed keen interest in the 31-year-old, recognizing him as a valuable potential addition to their midfield lineup.

Endo finds himself at the center of a competitive pursuit, with AC Milan, Celtic, Fulham, and Ipswich Town also vying for his signature. However, Football Insider indicates that Wolves are currently leading the race to secure Endo’s services.

Sources reveal that Liverpool is open to allowing the Japanese international to depart this winter as he has descended the pecking order under manager Arne Slot.

Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the potential departure of players like Endo, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Federico Chiesa from Liverpool in the upcoming transfer window. While Slot reportedly aims to retain all three until the season’s end, negotiations are ongoing.

Liverpool has placed a price tag ranging from €15-18 million (£12.5-15m) on Endo, indicating a possible slight loss from their initial investment of £16 million when they acquired him from Stuttgart in August 2023.

Although Liverpool is expected to gain more than the €14 million (£11.6m) Marseille offered for Endo last summer, his departure seems probable. The club’s attempts to secure replacements for the departing midfielder have been met with challenges, with earlier pursuits like Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad proving unsuccessful.

Endo’s playing time has diminished this season under Slot, signaling a potential exit as Liverpool eyes reinforcements in the defensive midfield position for the future.
