Danny Rohl has gained much appreciation from the Sheffield Wednesday supporters; they do not want the player to be signed by another club.
After coming to Sheffield Wednesday in October of the previous year, the former Bayern Munich and Germany’s assistant coach, Danny Rohl got to contribute in 58 matches, out of which only 24 ended in his team’s triumph. He became more famous last season when he made sure the Owls won the Championship after almost getting relegated. Rohl was linked with Hull City and Sunderland in the summer but managed to re-sign a new deal with Sheffield Wednesday that will keep him there until 2027.
Lately, Rohl has complained in the media that his team is really constrained, implying that he might be thinking seriously about the splendid job invitation somewhere else. Former BBC pundit Rob Staton believes that Leicester City may be the right club for Rohl especially after the dismissal of Steve Cooper. Staton agreed with Rohl also noting that many Championship managers would look at the Premier League with interest.
The interest that Leicester City has shown in a new manager has been further highlighted publically and Graham Potter has been identified as the potential candidate. But it has emerged that Potter, and more notably David Moyes, have both turned down the possibility of the position. Unless Leicester can carry out more domestic signings, or more of Europe’s stars prove willing to drop a division, Rohl’s name could be next. There has been no connexions with the Foxes but then they will most probably be looking at Championship possibilities such as Rohl as prophesied by Staton. They couldn’t be sure of the club’s future and this worried Sheffield Wednesday about Rohl’s transfer to Leicester City.
