Sebastian Tounekti could not resist twisting the knife after Celtic’s Scottish Cup penalty shootout victory over Rangers, taking to social media with a pointed Tina Turner reference aimed squarely at the Ibrox club.

Martin O’Neill’s side reached the last four of the competition on Sunday after edging out their city rivals from 12 yards following a goalless 120 minutes. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Auston Trusty, Reo Hatate and Tomas Cvancara all converted for Celtic, while Rangers saw James Tavernier and Djeidi Gassama both miss. Celtic will now face St Mirren in the semi-final at Hampden next month.

In the aftermath of the win, Tounekti shared footage of the Celtic huddle at Ibrox on Instagram, set to Tina Turner’s Simply the Best, the iconic song synonymous with Rangers and played at Ibrox before every home match. The dig was unmistakable, and his accompanying caption left no room for ambiguity, telling his 282,000 followers that Glasgow stays green and white.

Tounekti had started the match before being replaced by Cvancara in the 57th minute.
