This weekend, all the build-up to the Celtic vs Rangers Glasgow Derby comes to a head at Celtic Park.
Celtic fans are still fuming after watching Wilfried Nancy’s team get battered by Motherwell at Fir Park midweek.
Many want the Hoops boss gone, along with the whole Celtic board, after a shambolic performance saw the Hoops get outclassed by a Motherwell side assembled for a fraction of the Bhoys’ budget.
As for Nancy, the Rangers fixture represents a pivotal point of his Celtic career, according to Hoops hero Chris Sutton.
But when Celtic fans hear what Sutton has to say on what will happen if Nancy does manage to beat Rangers, the vast majority simply will not care.
Chris Sutton warns Wilfried Nancy Celtic vs Rangers game is career-defining
Chris Sutton delivered his Celtic vs Rangers prediction where he admitted that he has no clue how the game will turn out, as he tipped a high-scoring draw.
However, the former Celtic striker has delivered two scenarios for Nancy on what could happen if he beats Rangers or not, but for many, if he masterminds a win they simply will not change their minds.
Sutton told The Warm Up, “You think about Wilfred Nancy though, this is hero or zero this game isn’t it?
“I mean it absolutely is for him, because it’s at Celtic Park. There are Celtic fans who are still absolutely not convinced with Wilfried even though he’s won the last two.
“But all of a sudden, if he gets a win then it’ll be ‘We believe in Wilfried’ and if he loses it’ll be ‘He’s a dud. Get him out, bring Martin O’Neill back.’
Why the vast majority of Celtic fans won’t change their mind on Nancy
Now, it has to be said that this was predicted prior to Celtic’s defeat at Motherwell but even before that Fir Park loss, many Celtic fans had already made up their minds about Nancy.
The chaotic football the Celtic manager is telling his team to play is simply not working, and even if the Hoops beat Rangers, a lot of the support will believe the result will just paper over the cracks.
With Celtic ‘guaranteeing’ Nancy will be in place for at least a year, this could be a long and tortuous time for the Hoops support.
