Rod Stewart SLAMS Robbie Keane Celtic Rumours, Leaves “Zero Chance” of Former Star Getting Job

Celtic’s recent instability showed no signs of easing yesterday after the club dismissed Wilfried Nancy barely a month into his spell in charge.

The French coach endured a miserable run at Parkhead, recording just one win from eight matches. Supporters had grown increasingly vocal in their frustration with the 48 year old, and there were also suggestions that he had failed to fully convince the players.

Martin O’Neill has now been brought back for a second interim stint this season, with the expectation that he will remain in charge until the campaign concludes. Celtic are believed to be in no rush to name a permanent successor and are likely to wait until the summer before making a long term appointment.

Who that next manager will be remains unclear, but the club will be determined to avoid another misstep after the failed Nancy experiment.

Robbie Keane was previously linked with the job following Brendan Rodgers’ departure, although the former striker stated at the time that he was content at Ferencvaros. Whether his position changes over the coming months is yet to be seen.

Celtic supporter Rod Stewart made his feelings clear on Instagram, expressing relief at Nancy’s exit and calling for O’Neill to guide the team through the remainder of the season before potentially turning to Keane in the summer. He also confirmed he would be in attendance for the upcoming match against Dundee.

Keane’s managerial record to date is eye catching. He has lifted league titles in both Israel and Hungary during his first seasons in management. His current Ferencvaros side sit just one point off the summit of the Hungarian league and remain unbeaten in six Europa League matches this season.

Such achievements would naturally catch Celtic’s attention, although his previous links to the role prompted a divided response among the fanbase.

All eyes will now be on how events unfold at Parkhead in the weeks and months ahead.
