All the headlines on Monday at Celtic were around Wilfried Nancy and Martin O’Neill.
Let’s be honest, it’s news that many expected and the Celtic supporters welcomed with open arms.
Nancy was sacked by Celtic after 33 days in charge, and O’Neill returned to the dugout for a third time, and a second time this term.

But whilst all of that was happening, Paul Tisdale also left Celtic, and Chris Sutton made his feelings clear on the ‘self-proclaimed doctor.’
Chris Sutton doesn’t hold back in his criticism of Paul Tisdale after his Celtic exit
Tisdale was very unpopular with the Celtic fans, even though they never heard from him, mainly because there were a lot of question marks over his role.
Did Tisdale appoint Nancy? What role did he play in Celtic’s abject 2025 summer transfer window?
Either way, none of them was a good look on the champions of Scotland, and Sutton told Sky Sports News that Tisdale was ‘Doctor Dolittle’ during his time in Glasgow.
He’s a self-proclaimed doctor,” said Sutton. “Doctor Dolittle, I think he was at Celtic. Nobody knew what he actually was doing at the club.
“By all accounts, it was a case of (him) who had a large say in bringing Wilfried Nancy in. If he were in charge of recruitment in the summer, that was particularly poor.
“I think it’s the right decision for him to part ways. It certainly puts Celtic under pressure now in having to move quickly, in terms of recruitment.
“There is absolutely no doubt that this squad needs strengthening in January, and strengthening quickly.
What areas does Martin O’Neill need to strengthen in January?
O’Neill is back, and the Celtic fans are delighted. But it’s no rest for the wicked because it’s straight back to work, starting with Dundee United at the weekend.
But whilst all of that is happening, the Hoops need to deal with the January transfer window.
Sutton touched upon how this faltering and declining Celtic squad needs revamping, so what are the most important areas O’Neill and Co. need to strengthen?
