Dyche has been without a club since leaving Nottingham Forest earlier this season. Over the course of his managerial career, most notably at Burnley and Everton, he has become well known for building disciplined, defensively organised sides and for steadying clubs during difficult periods. At 54, he carries a significant weight of Premier League experience, which is likely to be an appealing quality as Palace consider the direction they want to take. The club’s established top-flight status and the quality within their squad are said to make the project an attractive proposition from Dyche’s perspective.
Palace are keeping their options open. Oliver Glasner is expected to remain in charge through to the end of his contract this summer, giving the club’s hierarchy the time and space to conduct a thorough search.
Thomas Frank is understood to be among the more serious candidates, attracting considerable interest following his recent departure from Tottenham. Those at the club are said to believe Frank may be eager to prove himself again after a challenging spell in North London. Robbie Keane has also drawn attention after a strong showing in European competition with Ferencváros, while former England manager Gareth Southgate has been loosely mentioned as a high-profile possibility.
