Paul Merson has thrown his support behind former Chelsea forward Timo Werner, predicting that he’ll make a significant impact at Tottenham Hotspur.

Insiders revealed to HITC that the RB Leipzig striker is scheduled to fly to London for a medical on Sunday, poised for a potential loan move to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur. The deal reportedly includes an option for Spurs to secure the German international permanently for ‘£15.5 million’ at the season’s end.

The thing I was harsh on him at Chelsea, he is lightning quick and he (Ange) looks like he likes pace at Tottenham by buying players like Johnson. If he can time his runs right on a big pitch at Tottenham, then he will cause havoc.”
