Activity at Elland Road has surged over the past 48 hours, with Leeds United potentially confirming several roster moves ahead of the new campaign.
Following recent reports that defender Nico Elvedi could be heading to West Yorkshire, the club has also finalized outgoings. Hull City officially confirmed the permanent signing of forward Joe Gelhardt over the weekend, securing a respectable fee for a player entering the final year of his contract and outside Daniel Farke’s immediate plans. Meanwhile, striker Joel Piroe is nearing an exit to West Ham, with a medical scheduled and sources in London expecting the move to wrap up shortly.
Perri Heading to Serie A
Movement is also occurring between the posts. Italian outlet Tuttosport reports that goalkeeper Lucas Perri is on the verge of completing his transfer to Torino.
While an exit for the 28-year-old Brazilian had been anticipated for weeks, the deal faced several roadblocks. Leeds initially held off on greenlighting the move until James Trafford arrived. Subsequent delays arose when Perri suffered an injury, which postponed his medical exams, alongside a late attempt by Marseille to hijack the negotiations.
Torino’s latest proposal has now been accepted. The transfer will see Perri join the Serie A side on a season-long loan that includes an option to buy.

49ers Face Urgency for Goalkeeping Depth
Perri’s decision to leave stems from his desire to secure a starting role, especially after both he and Karl Darlow were informed at the end of last season that neither was guaranteed the top spot.
With Perri moving on, 49ers Enterprises must act quickly to secure a suitable backup. However, doing so will require a delicate financial touch. Having already allocated over £40 million to the position, Leeds cannot afford to overspend on a deputy option.
The ideal recruitment strategy would mirror the 2023 signing of Karl Darlow: an affordable, experienced figure capable of stepping in when needed. Entering the new season with only two senior goalkeeping options presents an unnecessary risk the club must avoid.
Why are we buying players when the out going players are going on loan. Surely we should be selling the out going players.
