Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has brushed off talks linking the Serie A club to a move for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Giuntoli suggested that Juventus isn’t particularly enthusiastic about acquiring the Tottenham midfielder or any other player at the moment.

Recent reports from various Italian outlets hinted at Juventus’ interest in securing Hojbjerg’s services. However, discussions about a potential loan with an obligation to buy for €30m next summer seemed to hit obstacles.

Earlier reports indicated Juventus’ preference for an option to buy rather than an obligation. Attempts to negotiate using players like Samuel Iling-Junior or Matias Soule to strike a deal with Tottenham faced challenges.

TuttoMercatoWeb highlighted the Premier League side’s high £26m asking price as a hurdle for Juventus, suggesting difficulties in reaching an agreement in this transfer window.

Recent reports even hinted that Juventus might delay their pursuit of the 28-year-old until the summer transfer window.

Giuntoli has now publicly expressed that Juventus is not actively pursuing Hojbjerg’s services at the moment. He stated, “Kalvin Phillips or Pierre-Emile Højbjerg? In this moment we don’t see any opportunity on a technical and financial point of view. We are not forced to sign a new player, we only look for correct opportunities and we can’t see anyone as of now,” via Fabrizio Romano.
