Tottenham Transfers: Romano Drops Bombshell “Here We Go” for Former Man Utd Star, £21m Flop Eyes Dramatic ‘Escape Route’!

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the stage is set for Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon to finalize a loan move to Brentford. Tottenham has been notably active in the current summer transfer window, securing the services of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig on a temporary basis until the season’s end, in addition to acquiring Radu Dragusin from Genoa in a permanent deal valued at approximately €30 million.

As the focus now turns to trimming the wage bill and potentially pursuing the addition of a new midfielder, with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher reportedly at the forefront of their target list, the departure of several players from Tottenham has been underway. Notably, Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Djed Spence, and Ashley Phillips have already made their exits this winter, with the next in line being Sergio Reguilon. Transfer expert Romano has underlined that the Spanish left-back is set to join Brentford for the remainder of the season. The agreement entails a loan arrangement without a purchase option, with Brentford shouldering the primary portion of the player’s salary.

Having spent the first half of the season on loan at Manchester United, Reguilon’s return to Tottenham was prompted after the activation of the break clause by the former. However, the player’s desire for regular playing time led to his move away from Manchester United not materializing, ultimately paving the way for his temporary switch to Brentford.

Alongside Reguilon, Bryan Gil, who has seen limited action at Tottenham this season, with just two Premier League starts and a total of 187 minutes across nine appearances, could also be on his way out. Reports from The Daily Mail indicate that Serie A outfit Fiorentina, currently occupying the fourth spot in the Italian top flight, has expressed interest in securing a deal for Gil. The winger’s frustration at the lack of game time under manager Ange Postecoglou has prompted Fiorentina to emerge as a potential destination, as they seek reinforcements in their pursuit of a top-four finish. Since his arrival at Spurs in 2021 for a fee of £21 million, Gil has previously had loan spells at Valencia and Sevilla, and a move to Fiorentina may offer him the opportunity for a fresh start.
