“Leicester City’s Tactical Surprise: Predicted Line-Up Against Ipswich Revealed – Praet on Standby as Dewsbury-Hall Decision Looms!”

January 22, 2024

Dennis Praet might find himself back in the starting lineup for Leicester City as they prepare to face promotion contenders Ipswich on Monday night, provided Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is unable to recover in time.

The midfield poses a concern for City ahead of the crucial encounter at the King Power Stadium, as Enzo Maresca faces limited options following the surprise loan recall of Cesare Casadei and Dewsbury-Hall’s injury. This situation may require Praet to step in.

A back injury had sidelined the Belgian midfielder for four months earlier in the season, and subsequent minor injuries have restricted him to a few substitute appearances. Nonetheless, he may now be called upon, although Dewsbury-Hall is striving to regain fitness for contention.

Dewsbury-Hall sustained a knock to his upper leg during the penalty incident at Coventry and had missed training until Thursday. Should he have participated in training sessions since then, it is possible that he could be deemed fit to face Ipswich.

If Dewsbury-Hall is unable to participate, it is likely that Praet and Yunus Akgun will assume the advanced midfield roles. Another potential option could involve moving Ricardo Pereira forward and deploying Hamza Choudhury at right-back, a lineup adjustment seen in the recent defeat at Middlesbrough.

Leicester City also faces a necessity to make a change on the right wing following the suspension of Abdul Fatawu. Kasey McAteer, who made his return from a hamstring issue at Coventry last week, appears to be the natural choice to start in that position.

While Jamie Vardy has regained fitness and is expected to make his first appearance since November, it is likely that he will feature from the bench. Tom Cannon is anticipated to once again lead the attacking line.

The predicted City lineup for the upcoming match is as follows (4-3-3): Hermansen; Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, Justin; Winks, Yunus, Dewsbury-Hall; McAteer, Cannon, Mavididi.
