Tottenham Hotspur had been associated with a potential move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in recent weeks.

According to a report from Sky Sports, the north London club has now decreased their interest in the 24-year-old due to his recent injury concerns.

Tottenham is currently exploring other potential options as they seek to bolster their defense in January. Allegedly, players such as Lloyd Kelly and Tosin Adarabioyo are under consideration. Additionally, Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba is also among the options being evaluated.

Reportedly, the club is in search of a left-footed central defender, and it remains to be seen who they will ultimately sign.

The 24-year-old Chelsea defender would have been a valuable addition for Tottenham, given his versatility to also operate as a full-back.

Chalobah has faced challenges securing regular playing time at Stamford Bridge, making it imperative for him to seek regular opportunities elsewhere.

A move to Tottenham would have been beneficial for him, with the North London club likely to provide him with more playing time compared to Chelsea.

Furthermore, the player has been linked with a potential move to Bayern Munich, leaving his eventual destination uncertain.

Presently sidelined with an injury, Chalobah is expected to make his return in January.

Meanwhile, Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven has suffered a serious injury, leaving him sidelined for several weeks. Thus, it is crucial for Spurs to secure the services of a quality defender in January to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
