Derby County is set for a challenging match this weekend as they head to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United in what could be their most difficult test of the season so far. Both teams are currently level on nine points, but Sheffield United had two points deducted at the start of the campaign due to EFL rules violations from their promotion season.

Sheffield United remains undefeated this season, while Derby has suffered losses in both of their away games. The absence of David Ozoh due to injury will pose a challenge for Derby, as they may have to rely on Ebou Adams in the midfield against the formidable Gustavo Hamer of Sheffield United.

Hamer’s positional flexibility and movement will require Adams to stay alert and not be drawn out of position. Coach Paul Warne could consider deploying Ben Osborn to assist Adams in containing the talented Hamer. Staying disciplined and avoiding early yellow cards will be crucial for Derby’s success in this match.

Derby’s record at Bramall Lane is not encouraging, having lost their last four visits. Breaking this streak will be a tough task for Warne’s side, and keeping Hamer quiet will be key to their chances of a positive result on Saturday.

The Rams’ current away struggles contrast with their record-breaking 2023/24 road form, showing their ability to win on the road isn’t lost. If Adams keeps Hamer quiet, Derby could make a massive statement in Saturday’s clash and rewrite history in the Championship.
