Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish must now pursue alternative managerial targets after Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola rejected a move to Selhurst Park, with former Brentford and Tottenham manager Thomas Frank emerging as a leading candidate.
Oliver Glasner will depart this summer when his contract expires, having informed the club of his decision earlier in the season. The Austrian leaves behind a significant legacy, having delivered the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2025, though Palace have struggled to replicate that success currently sitting 14th in the Premier League.
According to Sky Sports, Iraola will only leave Bournemouth for a “big” club, with his contract also expiring at the end of the season. This stance has forced Palace to move on to other options, despite the Spaniard being their preferred choice.
Frank, described as “incredible” during his time at Brentford, represents a more accessible alternative. The Danish manager is currently a free agent following his dismissal by Tottenham earlier this campaign, a spell that perhaps proved a step too far at this stage of his career.
His achievements at Brentford, where he established the club as a Premier League force, suggest Palace could offer the right level of challenge. Frank would not face the pressure of managing a global superclub like Spurs, while Parish could secure an experienced Premier League operator without compensation complications.
The match appears logical for both parties. Palace require stability and proven top flight capability as they navigate post-Glasner transition.
