Valencia are in no rush to wrap up a deal for Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani. The Spanish side believe the English club will eventually have to drop their asking price if competitive offers fail to materialize before August.
The Belgian attacker returned to Elland Road after a successful loan stint at the Mestalla last season. Because his temporary agreement did not include an option to buy, he was forced to head back to Yorkshire, leaving his future unresolved.
Despite the setback, Valencia remain eager to secure Ramazani permanently. The club’s CEO even traveled to England last month to jumpstart negotiations. Los Che are prepared to finalize a transfer, but only if Leeds accept terms that fit Valencia’s tight financial constraints.
For their part, Leeds have been holding out for higher bids, suspecting other suitors with bigger budgets might step forward. That interest has yet to translate into concrete offers. If Ramazani stays put, he faces a fringe role under manager Daniel Farke, who declared him surplus to requirements following Leeds’ Championship-winning campaign.
According to Spanish publication Super Deporte, Valencia are content to monitor the situation patiently. They anticipate that a lack of competing bids late in the transfer window will compel Leeds to lower their valuation just to clear Ramazani’s wages off the books.
Valencia boss Carlos Corberan has made signing a wide player a top priority this summer. The Spanish outfit are confident Ramazani prefers a return to the Mestalla, but whether the two sides can bridge the gap in valuation will depend heavily on how the market unfolds over the coming weeks.
