Crystal Palace Faces Anxious Wait Over Chris Richards Injury After Brentford Draw
Crystal Palace is facing a stressful injury concern regarding USMNT defender Chris Richards following his premature exit during the team’s recent draw against Brentford.
The Eagles played out a 2-2 draw against their London rivals. Despite twice taking the lead via goals from Ismaila Sarr and Adam Wharton, Palace was pegged back both times to share the points. However, the biggest worry for manager Oliver Glasner centers on the fitness of Richards, a key figure in his squad, with the upcoming Conference League final on May 27 looming large.
Following the match, Glasner provided an update on the defender’s condition.
“He twisted his ankle,” Glasner explained. “I think he got Thiago landing on his ankle and then it twisted. It’s quite swollen, so we have to assess it further, but hopefully he can return in the midweek.”
The club will monitor the swelling closely over the next few days before determining the full extent of the damage, hoping their star defender can make a swift recovery ahead of their crucial European final.
