“Rangers FLOPS Again! Loanee LEFT ROTTING on the Bench as Foreign Clubs SWOOP In — Ibrox Exit IMMINENT!”

Kosta Nedeljkovic could be offered an early exit route from Rangers, according to reports in his homeland. Several clubs across Europe are closely monitoring the defender’s situation at Ibrox after a frustrating lack of match action during the opening months of the campaign.

The Serbian international completed a season-long loan move to Glasgow from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window. That agreement featured a conditional purchase clause tied directly to the total number of appearances the right-back makes throughout the campaign.

Despite arriving with significant promise, Nedeljkovic has struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup. The 20-year-old has registered just a single league start alongside one brief substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership. His continental involvement has similarly been restricted to fleeting cameos from the bench.

A minor injury knocked his early momentum, but his extended absence from the team is largely down to the form of Dujon Sterling. Sterling has taken firm ownership of the right-back position, producing solid displays that make it difficult for any challenger to break into the back line.

Reports in Serbia indicate that multiple European suitors are ready to step in during the January window to offer Nedeljkovic regular first-team football. Serbian publication Mondo highlighted his current struggles in their coverage of the national team, noting that his continued absence from club line-ups has placed several foreign sides on high alert. Spanish club Osasuna had previously shown strong interest in the defender before he opted for a switch to Scottish football.

Despite his peripheral role at club level, Nedeljkovic remains valued by Serbia’s senior national team setup. He earned his 12th cap over the weekend during Serbia’s clash against the Netherlands, proving his standing on the international stage remains solid.

The defender’s path to regular minutes at Ibrox looks challenging as manager Derek McInnes finds stability with a winning formula. A recent upturn in form has encouraged the manager to stick with a reliable core group of starters. While discussing fellow Serbian teammate Vanja Dragojevic, McInnes made it clear that continuity in selection has been the driving force behind their recent success.

McInnes explained that the squad has settled into a defined tactical system over the past few weeks, leaning on a consistent defensive quartet and an established midfield pairing. With the team striking the right balance behind the forward line, the coaching staff are reluctant to disrupt a setup that is delivering positive results on the pitch.

Unless injuries occur or the fixture list forces rotation, Nedeljkovic faces an uphill battle to displace Sterling in the coming months. If his playing time fails to improve before the winter window opens, Aston Villa and the player may find themselves considering alternative options to ensure his development does not stall.
