Leicester City striker Patson Daka has reportedly offered to join Turkish giants Galatasaray when his contract expires this summer, according to reports from Turkey.
The 27-year-old Zambia international, who arrived from RB Salzburg for a reported £23 million in 2021, has struggled to justify that price tag during his four years at the King Power Stadium. With his deal set to expire in June and no prospect of a transfer fee, Daka appears eager to secure his next destination.
Turkish outlet Aspor claims Daka is seeking a move to the Super Lig, though Galatasaray’s interest remains uncertain. The Istanbul club already boasts formidable attacking options in Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi, potentially limiting Daka’s opportunities.
This season has seen the forward make 33 Championship appearances, starting 14, with a modest return of three goals and three assists. His overall record since Leicester’s Premier League relegation reads 11 goals across three campaigns, a disappointing tally for a player of his reputation.
From a financial perspective, Daka’s departure will remove a significant wage burden. Capology estimates his weekly earnings at £75,000, a substantial outlay for a club facing potential consecutive relegations. Leicester currently sit 22nd in the Championship, one point from safety with seven matches remaining, and a six point deduction received in February continues to hamper their survival efforts.
