DEVASTATING: Leeds loanee entangled in a baffling injury saga, facing unforeseen setbacks!

April 5, 2024

Marc Roca’s prolonged absence from Real Betis has sparked concerns regarding the Leeds United loanee, with El Desmarque reporting that “everything has taken a turn for the worse.”

According to the Spanish news outlet, the 27-year-old had emerged as a key player under Manuel Pellegrini, but a string of injuries have marred his loan stint in recent weeks.

Roca is said to be on a tailored recovery plan to regain full fitness, grappling with knee discomfort, pneumonitis, and various ankle problems.

“Questions persist over Marc Roca’s absence. He was a linchpin for Manuel Pellegrini, missing only a single game in the initial part of the season,” penned Alvaro Borrego.

“Leeds’ loanee had become the coach’s go-to man, adeptly switching between the defensive midfield role and center-back position… Yet, misfortune struck in the last couple of months.”

The prospect of Roca donning the Leeds United jersey anew appears dim, given his move away following the club’s Premier League relegation last term.

Despite making waves in La Liga and impressing in the Europa League, the recent setback on the injury front raises concerns ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Per Diario de Sevilla, Real Betis is reportedly having doubts about pursuing a permanent deal for Roca, whereas the player seems uninterested in returning to Elland Road next season.

Rumors suggest that the midfielder would contemplate rejoining Leeds only if Daniel Farke’s side secures promotion to the Premier League this season, hinting at his lack of enthusiasm for the idea.

Yorkshire faithful will be wishing for Roca’s swift recovery and success in convincing Real Betis to retain him, with his potential comeback to Elland Road seeming highly unlikely, given the presence of Glen Kamara, Ilia Gruev, Ethan Ampadu, and Archie Gray.
